Snow
DoB: April 2021 | Breed: Canadian Eskimo Dog Mix | Size: Large | Female
Hi! My name is Snow. I’m a husky mix all the way from Northern Nunavut. I am the proud Mom of 8 busy puppies born in the care of ITAV. I am a happy, quiet girl, and I’m fully house trained. I may bark but it’s usually due to new sounds or to alert my foster family. I get along with my furry foster siblings pretty well, but my foster mom says that when I meet other dogs it will be important for me to make a proper introduction. I have a dominant personality and I don’t like to back down when challenged. Once I’ve been introduced though, I get along pretty well.
People make me so happy! I love people, even the little ones. I love to sit near them and to be pet but I also respect their space. I enjoy walks and to sniff around. Being from Nunavut I have a very warm coat so inside can get hot for me. When I get outside, I love to roll in the snow in the winter. I am very curious about squirrels and birds, and I especially like to watch them from the window. Outside I enjoy walks and to sniff around. You’ll need to have a good grip on my leash though as I have a strong prey drive and may want to chase the wildlife. Also, I don’t like cats. I will need a home with no cats or small animals.
I would do great in many homes, and would make an excellent walking or hiking partner. I love being outside and exploring everything the world has to offer!
If you think you’re the family for me, please fill out an application. I’m a great mom and deserve a great home with a loving forever family.

Ginger
DoB: 2020 | Breed: Chihuahua Mix | Size: Small | Female
Ginger is a much misunderstood young lady. She’s been described as a piranha-not true, I’ve never seen her swim-and and a woman hater-also not true. She hates everybody equally.
Ginger is an anxious little introvert looking for the perfect home to shine. She takes a little time to warm up, but once she does she’s extremely loving and affectionate. She’s gotten a bad reputation as “bitey”, but she’s mostly misunderstood. She likes to nip when she plays, but has no trouble giving you a warning snap if you scare her. When meeting new friends she likes to approach them on her own terms. Once she’s sure they’re safe, she warms up quickly. Treats help a lot. She’s VERY food motivated.
Ginger loves walks and loves to play, but she’s also happy to spend hours asleep on your lap if you’ll let her. She’s been said to prefer men, but she’s fine with women as long as they give her time to warm up. She seems fine meeting other dogs on walks, and has been said to get along well with cats. She does like to bark at people when she’s on a walk. She talks tough until they get close and then she’ll approach cautiously and go on with her day.
Ginger doesn’t have much training of any kind. She’s mostly house trained, but could use some reinforcement on that. She’s very smart though and should pick things up with some care and dedication. Most importantly, she needs a place where she can feel secure and safe to be herself. Once she feels that she’ll be your best, most affectionate pal.
Think this spicy girl would fit in well in your family?

Scully
DoB: 2016 | Breed: Bulldog Mix | Size: Large | Female
Well hello there! My name is Scully. I’m just a quiet, content, and affectionate girl looking for my forever home. My foster mom says I’m a sweet, gentle girl who loves lounging. I’m fully housetrained, I love to be with my humans, oh and I love to go on car rides! I also enjoy walks and am fine to say hi to other dogs if they want to say hi to me. I’m not reactive with other dogs and if they misbehave I just ignore them. I mean, who needs that!?! Quiet, laid back environments are my thing. I don’t have much exposure to kids and I love to chase cats so would probably do better in a house without them, especially if they don’t like me back. If you think you can give me the home of my dreams please let the team at ITAV know! Love Scully!

Dixie
DoB: February 13, 2023 | Breed: Breed: Canadian Eskimo Dog/Supermutt | Est. Adult Size: Large (60lb+) | Female
Hi there! I am Dixie, and I am a big playful pup, looking for my forever home! I love people and I especially love playing with other dogs. I get along well with everyone, and I could just play all day long with them! I do ok with cats, I am still not quite sure what they are, so sometimes I bark at them, so they can come and play, but they never seem to want to! I am great with kids, I love to play and snuggle with them, though I still have this habit of being a bit nippy, I am working on it, but my puppy brain just loves little fingers!
I sleep in my crate at night and when my foster family is away, and I do well in it. I am excited to get out as soon as a can, but I know staying in there keeps me safe, so I am learning to relax and have a good snooze while I am in there. I still haven't got this housetraining thing down pat, but I think once I settle into my permanent home, I will get the hang of it, cause I am super smart!
My perfect forever home would have a fully fenced yard so I can run-run-run around as much as I want. And make sure that fence is secure, otherwise I may just discover a way to escape! I would do great in a home with or without another dog friend, as long as my family gives me lots of attention and time to play. My foster mom thinks I would be a great companion for an active family, I would be so excited to go on camping or hiking adventures!
Think I am the right girl for you? If so, please apply, I would love to meet you!

Zola
DoB: February 13, 2023 | Breed: Canadian Eskimo Dog/Supermutt | Est. Adult Size: Large (60lb+) | Female
Hello! I'm Zola, and I am just a lil pup, but I have been told I am getting massive! I love being outside, its so much fun to run around all day long! My foster mom says I am super sweet and very affectionate. Sometimes when playing with smaller dogs, I do not realize how big I am getting so I need to learn to be more careful around them, and I am working really hard on that.
I still haven't got this housetraining thing down pat, but I think once I settle into my permanent home, I will get the hang of it, cause I am super smart! I haven't met any cats yet, but since I am still young, I am pretty sure I could learn to get along with a dog-savvy cat. I like kids too, though since I am so strong and clumsy, I tend to knock them over, so if there are any young kids in my forever family, they will need to be careful, cause I might come running playfully and accidentally knock them over. I do not mean to hurt them, I just want to play!
I am getting used to my crate, its not my favourite thing, but I know it helps keep me safe, so I am working my best at it.
My perfect forever home would have a fully fenced yard so I can run-run-run around as much as I want. And make sure that fence is secure, otherwise I may just discover a way to escape! I would do great in a home with or without another dog friend, as long as my family gives me lots of attention and time to play.
Think I am a good fit for you? If so, please apply, I would love to meet you!
